Brentwood Under 7s turned in four very creditable performances in the Essex Festival. Drawn in a tough group they were caught cold early on by hosts Braintree "A" and were 2-0 down but battled back only to be edged out 4-3. Next were eventual group winners Upminster and in a tremendous game of running rugby were unlucky to lose 6-5 with unclear pitch markings playing a part in Brentwood not getting an equalising score. The team were working well and in their final game, they came back from 2-0 down to beat Chelmsford 7-5. Finishing third in the group meant a semi-final place in the Bowl competition and after an extremely long delay between games were edged out 2-1 by Maldon after having a late "score" ruled out. The boys and the support were a credit to Brentwood RFC and they should be rightfully proud of the continuous improvement they are making this season.
